Language

The official language of the Conference is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

Badges

All the registered participants will receive a personal badge upon registration and are requested to wear it when attending the sessions or any social event.

Mobile Phones

Participants are kindly requested to switch-off their mobile phones or to adopt the silent mode during all presentations.

Program Changes

The organizers cannot assume liability for any changes in the program due to external or unforeseen circumstances. The organizers reserve the right to cancel, postpone, relocate or change any of the sessions or to add new sessions.

Attendance Certificates

Certificates of attendance are handed out on request to all regularly registered participants at the end of the meeting.

Disclaimer

The Organizer Committee does not accept liability for any damage and/or loss that may be incurred by a conference participant during the activities of the conference or the social activities connected with the conference. The participants take parts in all events connected with the conference at their own risk. Participants are advised to charge any loss or damage they may incur during the conference or the travel to and from the conference location to their insurance.

Force Majeure

The organizers reserve the right to cancel without notice or compensation ALCOSP 2013 Conference in the event of force majeure cases (for example, but not limited to, acts of nature such as fire, earthquake, hurricane, volcano eruption, flood or terrorist attacks). In such cases, the organizers are freed of all responsibility and no liability for any claim for damages and/or losses will be accepted. Limitation of liability of organization: In the event of it being impossible to carry out the ALCOSP 2013 Conference for force majeure cases, so long as this arises from a cause not attributable to the organizers, the organization shall only be obliged to reimburse the payments received subject to deduction of any costs it has incurred in preparing the event. This liability only extends to the payments made directly to conference organization and not to payments made by the attendees to the hotels or airlines. The applicable law is the French law. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or in relation to this contract shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Caen.

Insurance

The Organizing Committee of the Conference shall not accept any responsibility for the individual medical, travel, or personal insurance for the participants in the Conference. All the participants are strongly advised to obtain a personal insurance before attending the Conference. The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for the loss or damage of the participants' personal belongings.

Banks

Banks are open from Monday to Friday or from Tuesday to Saturday and from 09.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 16.00 hrs. Banks are closed on Sunday and on Monday or Saturday. Many banks have automatic currency exchange machines that also take credit cards. Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept major credit cards.

Post Offices

The opening time of the Post offices are: Monday to Friday, from hrs 08.30 to 18.30. Saturday from 09.00 to 12.30

Electricity

Voltage is 230AV, 50 Hz. Plugs have two or three round pins Foreign voltage could require an adapter.

Taxis

Licensed taxis have a name an identification number and are equipped with a taxi-meter. Taxis can be hailed on the streets, although they very rarely stop. It is better to hire them at taxi ranks.

Public transportation 

Caen has a comprehensive bus network and a tramway network. Services operate daily from hrs 06.00 to 24.00. Tickets cost 1.30 Euros  and lasts 60 minutes, allowing the traveler to use unlimited bus or tram. Tickets can be bought from newsagents and automatic selling machine at major bus stops. Climate

At the beginning of July, the mean temperature ranges from 15°C to 25°C.

Tipping

Tipping service is usually included in the bill in bars and restaurants, but tips are welcome.
